Pioneer PL-30 Audiophile Stereo Turntable Review

The era of modern technology brought about many new devices that enhance people’s lives. Moreover it has helped them revive some of their best memories by allowing them to use retro devices that were very popular in the past. One of those devices is certainly the turntable which was people’s beloved device as far back as the 1900s. Records are still pressed though and vinyl is selling as well as it has in a very long time, meaning many of your favourite albums can be listened to in arguably the most enjoyable way. Pioneer has created a more modern version of the retro turntable that can be a great addition to every home and allow you to enjoy the all-time classic as you did many years ago.

Design and Features

There is nothing too complicated in the design or function of Pioneer PL-30 Audiophile Stereo Turntable. Pioneer tried to maintain the plain look that makes the turntable more contemporary and blend it with the old-fashioned music format. The turntable is available in black colour which adds to its simplicity and elegance, covered by a transparent acrylic lid which makes sure your new lover is well-protected by the exterior influence and accumulation of dirt. The base is made of two layers of thick metal and a low centre of gravity which is responsible for the stability of the playback.

This turntable is perfect for those who would like to be able to listen to some old collection of vinyl without having any previous experience in using similar devices. The operations are fully automatic which means that the tonearm automatically moves onto the vinyl to start playing, and moves away when the music is finished. All that is left for you is to press the on and off button and enjoy the quality sound.

Pioneer PL-30 Audiophile Stereo Turntable has built-in phono equalizer if you decide to connect amplifiers that don’t have a phono output. In addition, the device comes with high-Performance MM cartridge and a rubber mat that prevents vibration due to external influences.  The die-cast platter and the tone arm are made of quality aluminium and it has an exchangeable head-shell. There is an anti-skating dial which provides accurate tracking.

The only downside of this turntable would be that it doesn’t have a USB port so you are not able to play different music formats. However, it does produce a hell of sound when it reproduces vinyl so probably not having a USB port is not such a big deal. Plus the old fashioned methods can still be used to connect it to other devices to record from vinyl and convert.

The price is somewhat affordable, although some might find it a bit pricy for a turntable that can only play vinyl. However, you should take into consideration the quality of the materials used in the making of this device, as well as the reputation of the company that produced it. Once you play your first vinyl onto Pioneer PL-30 Audiophile Stereo Turntable you will constantly fell in love with the good sound it produces and you will forget about any issues you have had with the price. This small turntable can fit perfectly in any home and can give you the pleasure of reviving some old memories from the past.
